There is currently no specific date set for a potential phone call between Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced on October 8, according to Russia's state propaganda agency TASS.

Peskov also confirmed that Putin did not receive a birthday telegram from the American leader.

“There was no birthday telegram from Trump,” he said.

Trump announced on October 7 that he intends to hold a conversation with Putin.

“I have a call set up. Today is his birthday. I’m sure you’re gonna celebrate it,” Trump told reporters.

Russian forces launched a massive combined air assault against Ukraine on October 7, deploying ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and strike drones. The barrage coincided with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's birthday.

The death toll from a Russian missile strike on a five-story apartment building in Pryluky rose to 22 people on the morning of October 8, including five children. Another 54 people were injured, including seven children, as emergency crews continue to clear rubble at the site of the attack.
