North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles toward the East Sea on Nov. 5, Yonhap reports.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff reported detecting a missile launch from North Korea’s Sariwon district in North Hwanghae province around 7:30 a.m. local time, noting that surveillance has been heightened and data shared with the U.S. and Japan.

The launch follows North Korea’s Oct. 31 test of the Hwasong-19 intercontinental ballistic missile, which is reportedly capable of reaching the U.S. and Europe with a nuclear warhead.
