Over 3,000 North Korean soldiers have started cohesion
exercises in Russia’s Kursk Oblast, Ukraine’s National Resistance Center (NRC)
reported on Oct. 28.
Reports indicate that the soldiers are training at several facilities, primarily at night. Accompanying them are staff from the North Korean embassy, who are serving as translators and observers for the mercenaries.
It remains unclear when these troops will be deployed directly to combat zones or how long the training will last. However, the locations of the soldiers are known to Ukrainian forces, the Center for National Resistance added.
On Oct. 28, Vadym Mysnyk, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian military, stated that Ukrainian forces have not yet engaged in combat with North Korean troops, nor have they captured any in the areas of Kursk Oblast under Kyiv’s control.
