Norway will deliver $7 billion in security assistance to Ukraine by the end of 2025, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said after a meeting with his Norwegian counterpart, Tore Sandvik, on June 5 in Brussels.
“Norway is among the leaders in supporting Ukraine: in 2025 it will release $7 billion,” Umerov wrote in a Facebook post.
He said the two discussed how best to use the funds, with priority given to joint projects in drone technology. These projects include purchasing Ukrainian-made UAVs, financing domestic development of new drone models, and collaborating on initiatives modeled on the Danish approach (where foreign aid is applied through placing orders with Ukraine’s own defense industry).
“I presented our technological solutions, which are already operating on the battlefield, to my Norwegian colleague,” said Umerov.
“We have the potential to scale them with the help from our partners, and Norway can play an important role here.”
In May, Sandvik said Norway will deliver the final batch of pledged F-16 aircraft to Ukraine by the end of 2025.
