The victims included two drivers working for a partner carrier and one employee of a contracting organization, the company said.
"The enemy has once again committed a war crime against the civilian population by using cluster munitions," Nova Poshta said in its statement. “We are in constant contact with their families and are providing all necessary help and support.”
The company said it is still assessing the damage from the attack and will fully compensate customers for the declared value of damaged shipments, reaching out to each affected customer individually with reimbursement details.
"Despite yet another attack, Nova Poshta continues to operate throughout Ukraine. Over the years of full-scale war, we have built a resilient operational system that allows us to ensure continuity even under the most difficult conditions," the company said, adding that customers can check shipment status and tracking through its mobile app and official website.
Overnight into Aug. 5, Russia launched a massive attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region using ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones, firing 24 Iskander missiles and four Zircon missiles. One woman was killed and more than 20 people were injured in Kyiv. In the surrounding Kyiv Oblast, 16 people were killed and 44 injured, according to figures as of 10 a.m.
Nova Poshta has faced repeated attacks on its infrastructure in recent weeks: on Aug. 2, Russian forces struck a Nova Poshta terminal in Kharkiv Oblast, killing an employee. On July 31, a Russian strike destroyed the company's sorting terminal in Poltava, and on July 30, a Nova Poshta logistics complex in Dnipro was hit.
