Nova Post opens its largest Moldova hub, processing up to 10,000 parcels hourly
Business29 June, 04:25 PM
The hub covers 3,800 square meters and brings all key
processes into one location, from parcel sorting to customs clearance.
“The new terminal operates around the clock, seven days a
week, and handles the full range of logistics operations: centralized parcel
sorting, customs clearance, sorting for delivery to addresses and delivery to
parcel lockers. For customer convenience, freight branch No. 25 also operates
on the site for shipments weighing more than 30 kg,” Nova Post said.
The terminal now handles an average of 35,000 parcels a day,
with a record so far of 80,000 shipments in a single day. It processes all
types of shipments — documents, parcels and oversized freight — both for
delivery within Moldova and internationally.
“In addition, Nova Post’s first fulfillment hub in Moldova
has opened at the terminal. It takes e-commerce in Moldova to a new level of
speed: orders customers place by 1 a.m. are delivered across the country by
morning. Symbolically, one of the first fulfillment clients was a Ukrainian
brand that entered the Moldovan market and uses Nova Post’s service to scale in
international markets,” the company added.
“Shipment volumes in Moldova are growing steadily, and
consolidating all processes in one place has allowed us to meet this demand
much more efficiently. As a result, we reduced average delivery time by two
hours. The new terminal has sped up logistics: intercity routes depart twice a
day, and routes to branches leave every 2.5 hours. We invested 800,000 euros in
opening the new terminal — an investment in speed and reliability for every one
of our customers in Moldova,” said Serhii Shapran, CEO of Nova Post in Moldova.
The company plans to continue developing its logistics
infrastructure in Moldova, including the launch of a new sorting center in
Balti.
Nova Post previously launched its own courier delivery
service in Czechia.
