Until now, our Patreon page has gone largely unused. Your support has been invaluable in allowing NV to continue its mission of providing news coverage from Ukraine and supporting our newsroom. However, it is time to focus on Patreon and engage with our supporters.
We will begin our Patreon roll-out with two benefits.
The first is a weekly newsletter, published every Friday. It will cover the top stories of a given week, as well as any announcements or comments from our Managing Editor.
The second is a twice-monthly Questions and Answers session. We will have a rotating cast of NV journalists and editors who can speak on a recent story they worked on or a topic they specialize in. This will occur over zoom on the first and third Fridays of every month, starting this week.
NV’s first live Q&A session will be this Friday, Sept. 20, at 6pm Kyiv Time, 11am Eastern Standard Time, open for members in the $10 tier and above.
Our first topic will be about Ryan Routh, the man who attempted to assassinate former U.S. President Donald Trump. Much of the U.S. media has been presenting Routh as having particularly close ties to Ukraine, which is simply untrue. He was only one of many people who came to the country in the early months of the full-scale 2022 invasion and were mere fantasists.
A guest, French journalist Guillaume Ptak, will join us for this first Q&A. Guillaume met with Ryan in those early days and much of his material is being used (often without permission) by foreign media to try and connect Routh to Ukraine.
We will record the Q&A session for our subscribers.
