SBU arrests Odesa realtor for planning Iskander missile strike

A local Odesa realtor was detained on suspicion of working for the Russian FSB and planning a missile attack on the city, the SBU reported on Aug. 23.

According to the investigation, after a March 15, 2024, Russian missile strike with Iskander-M missiles, the suspect conducted preliminary reconnaissance for the FSB, reporting on damage and casualties.

The suspect, who used an acquaintance in the Russian occupation army to relay information, continued to gather intelligence on Odesa and Ukrainian Defense Forces bases.

The SBU arrested him as he prepared to deliver new intelligence to the FSB and uncovered his involvement in disseminating false information on YouTube to support Russian war crimes.

The suspect faces charges of treason, discrimination, and justifying armed aggression, with a potential life sentence and property confiscation. He remains in custody.
