Russian forces carried out another overnight drone attack on Ukraine’s southern Odesa Oblast, targeting civilian and energy infrastructure, regional Governor Oleh Kiper reported on Telegram on Dec. 2.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
“An energy facility, an administrative building, and several private households were damaged,” Kiper said, adding that the attack caused power outages across parts of the oblast.
Emergency crews quickly extinguished a fire sparked by the strike. Critical infrastructure is temporarily operating on generators. Eleven “invincibility points” have been opened to provide residents with heat and power.
According to DTEK, more than 36,000 consumers remain without electricity.
“Odesa Oblast: the enemy attacked a DTEK energy facility at night. 8,000 households were reconnected using backup schemes. Another 36,300 are temporarily without power,” the report said.
