Air raid alerts were declared across Ukraine due to the threat of ballistic weapon use by a MiG-31K fighter and a possible launch of an Oreshnik missile.
At 12:35 p.m., the Air Force wrote: “A medium-range ballistic missile was likely launched.”
At 12:47 p.m., the threat of ballistic weapon use was canceled nationwide.
At 2:45 p.m., another launch from the Kapustin Yar test site was reported by the Air Force. At 3:07 p.m., an all-clear was declared.
Monitoring Telegram channels warned of a possible launch of a medium-range ballistic missile, Oreshnik.
Overnight into Feb. 12, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles and drones, with explosions reported. Infrastructure facilities in the capital came under strike.
As a result of the Russian attacks, damage was recorded at three locations in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi and Darnytskyi districts, with two people injured.
According to the Air Force, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 24 Iskander-M/S-300 ballistic missiles, one Kh-59/69 guided aviation missile and 219 attack UAVs of Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and other drones. The main targets of the Russian strike were Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Odesa.
On Jan. 9 it was reported that Russia struck Lviv Oblast with ballistic missiles from the Kapustin Yar test site. According to the Air Force, the target flew at a speed of 13,000 kilometers per hour.
On Nov. 21, 2024, Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile at Ukraine for the first time from Astrakhan Oblast; it was headed toward Dnipro.
