The Ukrainian Navy fired Neptune cruise missiles at a thermal power plant and nearby substation in Russia’s Oryol Oblast on Oct. 31, the navy’s press service said.

Both facilities had been supplying energy to military facilities in the region and taking them out of service “is a serious blow to enemy logistics,” the statement said.

Earlier, Oryol regional Governor Andrey Klychkov reported an attack on the Oryol Thermal Power Plant. Russian Telegram channel Astra also reported explosions in the city, and video of the strike circulated online.

The power plant has generation capacity of 330 Mw, a thermal capacity of 725 GCal/h, and employs 248 workers.

On Oct. 25, Russian media reported that Ukrainian forces struck the dam of the Belgorod Reservoir with HIMARS rocket artillery. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov later said the attack damaged several buildings housing technical equipment, the lifting mechanisms of one sluice gate, and the dam’s crest.
