The project attributed their surrender to being abandoned by their commanders.

“It's hard to fight when you are commanded by autocrats and treasury thieves, and your flanks are ‘covered by Kadyrovtsy (Chechen fighters) bandits who abandon everyone and everything to avoid being captured themselves,” the post read.

"The Ukrainian forces took control of and cleared a well-fortified company stronghold, which was reinforced with concrete on all sides," Security Service (SBU) sources said.

"The stronghold included underground communications, living quarters, a dining room, an armory, and even a bathhouse. The enemy had no intention of surrendering, as they had ample provisions and ammunition."

A total of 102 Russian soldiers were captured in the largest single operation.
