Sixty-six people, including six children, have been evacuated from the town of Lysychansk in the Donbas, Luhansk Governor Serhiy Hayday said in a Telegram messenger post on June 5.

"Quietly. Without announcement. We drove around bomb shelters. Persuaded (people). The military, police officers and rescuers of the State Emergency Service were able to do the impossible again – 66 people are already safe," he said.

Hayday also urged all those who remained in the town not to leave their bomb shelters, as the shelling continues.

Earlier on June 4, the Russian invaders launched a missile strike on Lysychansk using a Tochka-U missile system.
