The Ukrainian parliament (Verkhovna Rada) will soon resume live broadcasts of its plenary sessions, as Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk signed the corresponding resolution on Sept. 9.

Yaroslav Yurchyshyn, a sitting MP and chair of the parliamentary Free Speech Committee, told reporters that broadcasts will begin Sept. 16, when the next parliamentary session is scheduled to convene. Besides the Rada TV channel, the broadcasts will be available on YouTube.

Yurchyshyn commended the public for sustaining pressure that eventually convinced lawmakers to push the measure through.

On Sept. 4, the parliament adopted a resolution to resume live broadcasts, passing it with 266 votes in favor.

Parliament had suspended its live coverage after Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, citing security concerns. The first live broadcast since then took place July 31, 2025—the day MPs voted to restore the independence of Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies.
