Poland to send SMS alerts when jets scramble during Russian attacks on Ukraine

The changes came after a July 30 incident in which a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile violated Polish airspace and crashed in the Lublin region.

Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka told Wirtualna Polska that the military system responded appropriately on July 30 and that the civilian alert system is now being improved.

According to the deputy prime minister, Polish citizens will now receive text message alerts when Poland scrambles fighter jets in response to a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine.
