Russia destroys bridge in border village, residents to evacuate

Police evacuated 16 people from the village of Lugovka, Sumy Oblast after Russian occupiers destroyed a bridge over the Vorskla River, which is located near the village and connects it to automobile roads, reported the press service of National Police on March 14.

"The enemy is destroying civilian housing and infrastructure. Yesterday, a Russian missile destroyed a bridge over the Vorskla River," law enforcement officers said.

The National Police published a video of the evacuation of civilians from the village of Luhivka.

"Police officer Dmytro Piddubnyi evacuated 16 residents of the village of Luhivka," the caption reads.

Police note that, due to the intensification of shelling by the Russian Federation, more and more residents of border areas are deciding to relocate to safer areas.

Law enforcement officers have been escorting vehicles and ensuring public order. The police also help civilians, including the elderly and families with children, to leave and help them to stay in safe places away from the shelling.
