Authorities in Poltava Oblast mistakenly issued a radiation threat alert overnight, regional chief Volodymyr Kohut said on Telegram on Aug. 20.

Residents were warned of a radiation threat in the Myrhorod district.

Kohut explained that a malfunction in the alert system caused a false radiation warning to be issued instead of an air raid alert during a Shahed drone attack.

Overnight, Ukraine’s Air Force warned of attack drones headed toward Myrhorod.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces attacked Okhtyrka in Sumy Oblast overnight, injuring 12 people, including two children.

Russian invaders also struck Odesa Oblast, sparking a fire at a fuel and energy facility.
