Residents of Chernihiv, Slavutych, and several settlements in the Chernihiv district were left without electricity after an accident at an energy facility, regional utility Chernihivoblenergo said on Feb. 19.

Officials said consumers were left without power due to an accident on one of the 110-kilovolt overhead transmission lines.

Power engineers are working to restore electricity supplies.

Viacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said Russian forces on the evening of Feb. 18 struck civilian infrastructure in the city of Nizhyn with a ballistic missile. A 49-year-old man sustained shrapnel wounds in the attack.

In two villages of the Snovsk community, drone strikes using Geran UAVs set an outbuilding on fire and damaged residential homes. In the Novhorod-Siverskyi community, a fire broke out at a school.

According to the regional administration, Russian forces carried out 43 strikes on Chernihiv Oblast over the past day.
