Energy Ministry reports power outages across eight oblasts following Russian attacks

The ministry noted that energy crews are working around the clock to restore power to all customers as soon as possible.

The Ministry of Energy added that it does not expect to introduce scheduled blackouts on June 1. Consumers are asked to reduce electricity consumption between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., which will help ease the load on the power system, the ministry emphasized.

Local authorities reported a power outage in Poltava on June 1. More than 6,500 households and 548 businesses were left without power. Poltavaoblenergo JSC crews are already working to restore power, the regional administration said.

Russian strikes on June 1

Russian forces launched 265 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmaz, and decoy drones against Ukraine overnight on June 1.

As of 8 a.m., air defense shot down or neutralized 228 enemy UAVs in the north, south, and east.

Russian forces also launched 14 drones at Kharkiv, hitting the city’s Slobidsky, Osnovyansky, and Kyivsky districts. Two people were injured, and ten houses were damaged, primarily from shattered windows. The attack also damaged the city’s power grid, tram lines, and traffic lights.

Drone strikes also targeted Odesa. One enemy UAV struck a two-story house, injuring four people.
