Explosive device detonates in the hands of Army FM host during live broadcast in Kyiv

An ammunition explosion injured a presenter in the Army FM radio studio, Ukrainska Pravda reported, citing law enforcement sources on Jan. 19.
Kyiv police confirmed an explosion at a radio station studio on Jan. 19, injuring a presenter, who was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds, officials said.

Law enforcement determined that a VP-9 bottom detonator, brought in as a display item by a guest, detonated after the presenter manipulated it during a live broadcast.
The incident occurred around 10:50 a.m. at the Armed Forces’ House of Officers on Hrushevskoho Street.
Authorities are considering charges under Article 263 of Ukraine's Criminal Code for illegal handling of explosives.
