Putin waves to Xi Jinping, calling him a "dear friend," and talks about the need to "summarize the results of the work of the past period, outline new plans for its development," stressing the need for a fair multipolar world order and indivisible security in the Eurasian space and globally.
"We are coordinating our steps in other multilateral platforms, such as the United Nations and its Security Council, the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization), the Group of Twenty and APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation)," Putin said.
Trade between Russia and China is said to have grown by 7% to over $220 billion, with Chinese statistics putting it at nearly $245 billion for the full year.
"China is our main trading partner, and Russia confidently ranks fifth in the list of countries that are China's trading partners."
The conversation took place the day after US President Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20.
