Putin orders boost in arms production and preparation for future wars

Vladimir Putin stated that Russian defense industries have doubled their production of weapons, communications equipment, and electronic warfare systems.

Russia’s military has received 4,000 armored vehicles and tanks, 180 aircraft and helicopters, and over 1.5 million unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), including 4,000 drones controlled by virtual reality systems.

Despite this, he admitted that the military still lacks sufficient weapons.

Putin revealed that the military-industrial complex has been assigned even more ambitious production goals than before, with plans to expand the capacities of more than 400 defense-related enterprises.

He also emphasized the need to prepare for potential future armed conflicts, stating, “We must understand what the potential armed conflicts of the rapidly approaching future may be.”

The Russian president ordered the acceleration of production for robotic systems, unmanned boats, naval systems, and laser weapons.

Additionally, he instructed the creation of a satellite group that would support not only the military but also other Russian security agencies.

Earlier reports suggested that Putin had proposed halting the fighting on the front lines of the war in Ukraine as part of efforts to reach a peace agreement with U.S. President Donald Trump.
