The Verkhovna Rada dismissed several Ukrainian government ministers, while some high-profile resignations went unvoted on Sept. 4.
On Sept. 4, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed several Ukrainian ministers:
- Oleksandr Kamyshin was removed as Minister for Strategic Industries. Reports suggest he may be moved to the President’s Office, possibly as a strategic advisor, and could replace Rostyslav Shurma as deputy chairman.
- Olga Stefanishyna was dismissed as Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration. There are suggestions that her role might merge with the Ministry of Justice, which she could then head.
- Ruslan Strelets was removed as Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
- Denys Malyuska was dismissed as Minister of Justice. The Ministry of Justice is expected to merge with the Deputy Prime Minister's office for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
Votes to remove Vitaliy Koval from the State Property Fund and Iryna Vereshchuk from her role as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration fell short, with 225 and 214 votes respectively.
The resignation of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba was also not considered. Zheleznyak mentioned that the process was halted, and Kuleba remains in his position for now. Reports indicate that Andrii Sybiha might be appointed as the new Foreign Minister.
Zheleznyak noted that the unsuccessful votes are temporary and that committees will reconvene to address the resignations, with further discussions planned within the Servant of the People faction on new ministerial nominations.
