2.5 million+ Ukrainians access governmental financial aid program in one day

The launch of the governmental Winter eSupport Program has seen over 2.5 million Ukrainians apply to receive a 1,000 UAH (about $24) grant, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov reported on Telegram on Dec. 2.

"Over 2.5 million applications for Winter eSupport in a single day," he wrote.

"This is an absolute record for digital services. Undoubtedly, it has become the most widely used online service in the world."

Among these applications more than 551,000 were submitted for financial assistance for children, Fedorov noted.

Who Can Apply?

The program is available to all Ukrainian citizens residing in Ukraine, excluding temporarily occupied territories.

How to apply and use the funds

Applications are open throughout the winter period until Feb. 28, 2025, and the funds can be used until Dec. 31, 2025.

The grant can be spent on:

  • Utilities, medical, veterinary, or legal services
  • Education, sports, recreation, transportation, mobile communication, and insurance
  • Charity: donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) or the military bonds purchase
  • Beauty salons, entertainment, and other services.

How to Receive the Support

The assistance is accessible through the Diia app, partner banks, or Ukrposhta. Banks will issue a National Cashback card for beneficiaries, where the money will be deposited.

No Hidden Costs

The issuance and maintenance of the National Cashback card are free of charge, and no taxes will be levied on them.
