Given their subordination to the Ground Forces, Ukraine’s military recruitment centers tend to neglect the manpower needs of the Marine Corps, Navy, and Special Operations Forces, Ukrainian MP Solomiia Bobrovska told NV on Dec. 5.

Bobrovska represents the Holos political party (currently in opposition) and sits on the parliamentary Defense Committee.

In an interview with NV Radio, she advocated extracting Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) from the internal structure of the Ground Forces, subordinating them to the Ukrainian military in general, instead. The MP argued that it would allow recruiters to finally adopt an equal and unbiased approach to staffing various brigades and forces.

“The TRCs will never prioritize the Marine Corps, Navy, or Special Operations Forces,” said Bobrovska.

“They would only do so when there's a complete collapse in combat readiness [in those branches of the military]. And that staffing crisis will come because people are currently fighting on the frontline.”
