The president made the statement after receiving the latest reports from the General Staff.
"The Donetsk directions remain particularly challenging, and we will try to convince our partners at Ramstein [Ukraine Defense Contact Group meetings] that we need a significant enhancement of our capabilities and positions, especially now during the fall months," said Zelenskyy.
He also noted that adequate supplies for the front, proper outfitting of brigades, and sufficient long-range strike capabilities would most effectively pressure Russia towards a ceasefire solution.
Zelenskyy also received reports from Strategic Industries Minister Herman Smetanin.
“Weapons production: ammunition, artillery, and technology,” the president described the priorities of Ukraine’s defense industry.
“It's not just about what has been achieved or what we are already producing, but also about proposing to [international] partners to invest in our Ukrainian drone production, primarily, and electronic warfare.”
