Rescuers completed emergency response efforts following a Russian attack on Kyiv, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said on May 7.

Kyiv came under a massive Russian attack on the night of May 7, with four ballistic missiles and 142 drones targeting Ukraine. The capital was struck twice — first by missiles, then by drones in the early morning.

Debris from intercepted drones fell across four city districts — Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Dniprovskyi. The assault left two people dead and seven injured, including four children.

In Dniprovskyi, the top floors of a residential high-rise were destroyed. Fires broke out in other districts, prompting emergency rescues.

Five people, including three children, were saved from a burning building in Sviatoshynskyi.

The bodies of two victims were later recovered from a damaged five-story building in Shevchenkivskyi.
