In a comment to Ukrainian parliamentary TV broadcaster Rada TV, Kachka stated that the negotiating work continues almost around the clock.
According to him, a recent conference call with the law firm advising Ukraine on the agreement went well.
“There’s a lot of work, and both sides are fully engaged…,” the deputy minister said.
“This week we hope to reach an interim result—a joint statement or memorandum of understanding—to put our progress in writing. Perhaps even today [April 16] something will be signed,” he said.
He added that the next round of talks with the U.S. delegation is scheduled for next week.
“There won’t be a final version of the agreement this week,” Kachka said.
“We have a lot of work to do because the ideas proposed by the United States need to be refined so they are both realistic and harmonious.”
Earlier on April 16, Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported “significant progress” on the economic agreement between Ukraine and the United States.
