The current electricity generation deficit remains acute due to scheduled maintenance at Ukrainian nuclear power plants.
According to Kudrytskyi, the deficit is further exacerbated by continuing Russian air strikes, surging consumption driven by hot weather, and limited electricity import capacity.
“In August, we expect that the maintenance on some nuclear power units will be completed, providing us with more available capacity,” he said.
“Additionally, we hope that the weather conditions will be less severe, leading to moderate electricity consumption in the Ukrainian power system.”
He added that repairs are ongoing at a significant number of power plants.
"This repair campaign is necessary so that we have the maximum available capacity of our power plants, including nuclear, in winter,” Kudrytskyi said.
Since May 14, rolling blackout schedules have been in effect across the country, caused by two months of relentless Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian thermal and hydroelectric power plants.
