The Oct. 10 attacks have knocked out parts of Kyiv energy generation capacity, creating a substantial power grid deficit, DTEK stated.
Power outages will affect only parts of the capital city at a time, lasting no more than four hours.
The company said it will publish daily blackout schedules on its website, starting on Oct. 11.
Consumers are urged to avoid running energy-intensive home appliances – such as washing machines, boilers, AC units, kettles – during peak hours, between 17:00 p.m. and 22:00 p.m.
Russia launched at least 84 missile and drone strikes across Ukraine on Oct. 10, killing 14 and injuring 90 people. The attack damaged critical infrastructure facilities, residential buildings, cultural institutions and other civilian facilities.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in an evening address on Oct. 10, also asked Ukrainians to try not to overload the energy system from 17:00 to 22:00, and to reschedule the use of washing machines, clothing irons, and other electrical appliances accordingly.
