“We finished the planning stage and have already launched production in Ukraine,” Rochel CEO Romash Shimonov said at an event in Toronto, as reported by Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform.
“The facility opened two months ago, and it is now fully operational.”
Shimonov did not disclose the plant’s location for safety reasons.
“It will certainly become a very attractive target for the Russians,” he said.
He added that relocating production to Ukraine has given the company access to a “unique labor resource.”
“We’ve found incredible talent with the skills, knowledge and experience that can be applied to real-world solutions. You can’t find that anywhere else.”
On Sept. 16, 2024, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry accepted Roshel Senator MRAP armored vehicle into service. Hundreds of Senator vehicles have since been delivered to Ukraine in various packages of military aid from Kyiv’s Western partners.
