Russia confirms targeted attacks on Ukraine’s recruitment centers

Russia acknowledged conducting a series of deliberate attacks on Ukraine’s territorial recruitment and social support centers across several regions, according to Russian propaganda media citing the Ministry of Defense on July 7.

Russia admitted to targeting multiple Ukrainian recruitment centers within a single day.

Russian attacks on territorial recruitment centers

On June 30, a Russian drone struck near a territorial recruitment center in Kryvyi Rih, injuring three civilians.

On July 3, Russia attacked Poltava with drones, causing a fire at the Poltava City Territorial Recruitment Center.  

“Another strike near the Poltava Oblast Territorial Recruitment Center sparked a fire at a private residential house. Unfortunately, there are fatalities and wounded, including among civilians,” the Ukrainian Land Forces reported.

Acting Head of Poltava Oblast Military Administration Volodymyr Kohut specified that two people were killed and 11 injured in the Poltava attack.  

On July 6, Russian forces hit the Kremenchuk District Territorial Recruitment Center with a drone, with no casualties reported.

Vitaliy Sarantsev, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Land Forces Command, stated that Russia is likely to continue targeting territorial recruitment center buildings across Ukraine to disrupt conscription efforts.  

On July 7, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhya with drones. The Ukrainian Land Forces reported that enemy drones struck the Kharkiv Oblast Territorial Recruitment Center and its surrounding area, as well as near the Zaporizhzhya Oblast Territorial Recruitment Center. Preliminary reports indicate one serviceman was injured in Zaporizhzhya, and three people were wounded in Kharkiv’s Territorial Recruitment Center.
