Invading forces advanced near the village of Zakitne in the Lyman
district of Donetsk Oblast, bringing 3.26 sq km of territory under Russian occupation
in just one day, OSINT (open-source intelligence) project DeepState reported on
Feb. 25.
DeepState said the village itself had not been captured. Maps show Zakitne is partially occupied, though most of it remains in an area DeepState classifies as "Russian infiltration zone."
According to DeepState’s map, the area under occupation in that sector grew by 3.26 sq km as the mapped infiltration zone shrank by the same amount.
DeepState also reported that the Russian infiltration zone north of the city of Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia Oblast expanded by 2.42 sq km in a day, but the area formally occupied did not increase.
Other sections on the frontline showed no change over the past 24 hours.
