Russian forces struck Kharkiv, injuring five people, regional governor, Oleh Synehubov, reported on Telegram on May 18.

The strike targeted a residential area, Mayor Ihor Terekhov said. The attack injured five people and destroyed several houses. Two of the injured are children, aged 13 and 16, Synehubov said.

Explosions earlier rocked Kharkiv, Terekhov reported. The Ukrainian Air Force warned of glide bombs being launched on Kharkiv Oblast by tactical aircraft.

Russian forces attack Kharkiv daily, coinciding with their offensive in the Oblast.

Explosions were also heard in Kharkiv on May 17. Synehubov said the Russians launched two strikes with glide bombs, particularly in the city's Kholodnohirskyi district. The bombardment killed four people and left 16 hospitalized.

In total, about 29 people were affected.
