Russia’s Iranian-designed Shahed
drones targeted an energy infrastructure facility in Novovolynsk, just 15 kilometers
from the Polish border, local authorities said on March 18.
“Friends, according to preliminary reports, there was a hit on an energy facility near Novovolynsk,” town Mayor Borys Karpus said in a Telegram post.
“Part of the town lost power. Water-supply interruptions are also being observed. More details will follow.”
Volyn regional governor Roman Romanyuk said the attack
damaged critical infrastructure and left more than 30,000 households without
electricity. “Emergency services are working on site to repair the damage,” he
said.
