Russian forces shelled the town of Ukrainsk in Donetsk Oblast, killing two people and wounding another, regional governor Vadym Filashkin reported on Telegram on Aug. 12.

The attack occurred around noon when Russian artillery struck the town, damaging two five-story buildings in the process.

Ukrainsk is just 10 kilometers from the front lines, prompting the governor to urge residents to evacuate for their safety.

This assault comes just days after a Russian attack on Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast on Aug. 9. In that incident, Russian forces targeted a shopping center that housed a Nova Poshta cargo department and an Eco-Market supermarket, resulting in 14 deaths, including three young girls aged 9, 11, and 16. Another 44 people were injured in the attack.
