Russia’s Defense Ministry has scrapped Army-2025, its annual military exhibit and forum that had been held at the Patriot Park in Kubinka, a suburb of Moscow, since 2015.

Ukrainian defense news outlet Militarnyi noted the abrupt cancellation on July 16. Russian propagandists at the newspaper Izvestia confirmed that the ministry had canceled the event but did not cite a reason.

The forum’s website remains online but no longer lists any event dates. Army-2025 was originally scheduled for Aug. 11–14. Russian officials now claim the forum could be held “behind closed doors,” without public attendance.

For nearly a decade, the event was a key exhibition for Russia’s Defense Ministry. Since the 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Patriot Park has become a hub of jingoistic propaganda and served as a recruitment tool for the military.

Some analysts suggested Army-2025 was cancelled over concerns that Ukraine might target the exhibition with drones. In May, a Ukrainian UAV struck a pavilion in the Patriot Park.
