Russia launched two Iskander-M missiles and 79 attack drones at Ukraine overnight Friday, with air defenses downing 63 Shaheds, the Ukrainian Air Force said on Aug. 15.
The drones were launched from the directions of Kursk, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Shatalovo in Russia.
Attack drones targeted frontline areas in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk and Chernihiv oblasts, while missiles struck the Kharkiv and Chernihiv oblasts.
Air defenses operated in the north and east of the country.
According to the Air Force, missile and drone strikes — including 34 UAVs — hit 13 locations.
On Aug. 15, several regions declared air alerts due to the threat of drone attacks.
