The Russian invaders launched 100 drones at Ukraine, with air defense forces downing 37, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on Telegram on April 29.

Russian forces launched Shahed drones and other unmanned aerial vehicle simulators overnight from multiple locations, including Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Chaudy in Russian-occupied Crimea, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.

Ukrainian defenses, including fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire teams, responded to the large-scale drone assault.

Air defense units shot down 37 Shahed drones across eastern, northern, southern, and central oblasts of the country. An additional 47 drone decoys were also destroyed mid-air, the Air Force said.

The strikes targeted the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv oblasts.

Air raid alerts were issued across several regions during the night due to the threat posed by the Iranian-made drones. In Kyiv, air defense systems were actively engaged.

Debris from a downed drone caused a fire that destroyed a three-story recreational facility in the Desnianskyi district of the capital. One woman was injured and treated on the scene, according to emergency responders.
