Russian troops launched 219 strike drones — including about 150 Shaheds and others of the Gerbera, Italmas and various types — at Ukraine overnight into April 18, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
Air defenses preliminarily neutralized 190 Russian drones over the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country. However, 28 strike drones hit 17 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at nine sites.
The Air Force warned that the Russian attack was still ongoing, with several enemy drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace as of 8 a.m.
In Odesa Oblast, Russian forces struck a port facility, sparking a fire and injuring one person, the regional military administration said.
In Chernihiv Oblast, strikes targeted energy infrastructure, leaving approximately 380,000 households without electricity.
In Zaporizhzhya, the overnight attack damaged an infrastructure object, private houses, and cars.
