At least five missiles reportedly hit technological facilities that had already been shut down for a long time and were not operating.
“This site has already come under Russian attack dozens of times since 2022, both by drones and missiles, and its equipment has long been taken out of service for the long term,” the company said.
According to Naftogaz, the latest strike caused critical damage that effectively makes it impossible to restore or resume operation at the facility.
As previously reported, overnight into Sept. 3, Russia carried out a large-scale attack on extraction assets of Ukrnafta, which is part of the Naftogaz Group, damaging equipment that then had to be shut down.
Employees were in shelters during the strike, and no one was injured.
Earlier, overnight into Aug. 27, Russian forces launched repeated strikes on the Kherson thermal power plant operated by the Naftogaz Group.
That attack completely destroyed and disabled all heat- and power-generating equipment that had remained at the station.
