Russia attacks Ukraine with missile and 200+ drones, hits reported at 22 sites

Russia launched an overnight attack on Ukraine using an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 206 drones, including more than 140 Shahed types, some jet-powered, Ukraine’s air force said on Apr. 30.

Air defenses preliminarily neutralized 172 Russian drones over the north, south, west and east of the country.

According to the Air Force, the attack included a ballistic missile strike and 32 strike drones hitting 22 locations, as well as debris and downed targets falling in nine locations.

As of 0800, the Russian attack was ongoing, with several drones still detected in Ukraine’s airspace, the Air Force said.

Overnight on April 30, Russia carried out a massive Shahed drone attack on Odesa, injuring 18 people. Strikes set apartments on fire in five- and 17-story buildings.

Private homes, including in the city center, were damaged, along with a kindergarten, a shopping center, dozens of buses and passenger cars. Infrastructure facilities were also hit.
