The conclusions were relayed by NATO Military Committee chair Adm. Giuseppe Cavo Dragone and EU Military Committee head Gen. Sean Clancy, who were speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 18th Kyiv Security Forum.
“Currently there is no significant movement on the battlefield, and the Russians are suffering huge losses,” Dragone said.
“I think the end is not yet in sight, but they are stuck again. Ukrainian soldiers are holding the line bravely, and that is keeping the situation static where it is. I do not think there will be a mobilization.”
Clancy said his analysis reached the same conclusion.
“I do not see Russia resorting to mobilization; clearly the front line is not moving — it is static,” the Irish general said.
“Russia probably expected to finish this war in a matter of days. We have now been standing with Ukraine for four years, into the fifth, and we will continue to support them throughout.”
Clancy also reiterated that the European Union will continue
to support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people to help secure victory against
Russia.
