Russia ‘planning false flag operations at home to drum up support for war’

According to Budanov, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is being forced to resort to such “dirty tactics” now that it has become clear that an attempt at a covert mobilization in Russia has failed and left Moscow with little manpower to replenish its thinning forces in Ukraine.

“That’s why they are planning explosions in Russian apartment buildings or missile strikes – to point the finger at Ukraine’s Armed Forces and volunteer battalions, painting an emotional picture of ‘atrocities of Ukrainian nationalists,’” said Budanov.

“These acts of terror could very well be made to look like Ukrainian retribution for (Russian war crimes in) Bucha and Kramatorsk, and used to justify further such atrocities against Ukrainian civilians.”
