10 Russian fighter jets redeployed to Belarus’ Machulishchy airfield

10 Russian fighter jets have been redeployed to Belarus' Machulishchy airfield, the Belarusian Hajun volunteer initiative reported on Telegram on May 18.

According to Hajun, between 11:20 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. on May 18, eight Su-34 fighters and two Su-30SM fighters were redeployed from Baranovichi airfield to Machulishchy airfield.

On Feb. 26, explosions rocked Machulishchy. According to preliminary data, an A-50U long-range radar detection and control aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces was damaged.

The head of the Belarusian opposition initiative BYPOL, Alexander Azarov, said that the sabotage was organized by Belarusian partisans.

After the attack, Belarusian border guards stepped up checks at exits from the country. According to the human rights organization Viasna, at least six people were detained after the explosion.
