Russia attacked Ukraine with 99 Shahed drones and various imitation UAVs overnight on Jan. 22, with air defense forces intercepting 65 of them, Ukraine’s Air Force reported.

The drones were launched from Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea, as well as from Millerovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.

Air defense systems were active in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, and Odesa oblasts.

According to the Air Force, an additional 30 imitation drones lost contact without causing any harm.

The attack caused damage to institutions, industrial facilities, utility buildings, private homes, and apartment buildings in the Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, and Khmelnytskyi oblasts. Emergency services are addressing the aftermath, with no casualties or injuries reported so far.
