Preliminary information indicates no casualties from the attack, though its consequences are still being assessed.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Air Force warned of ballistic missile threats from Russia’s Taganrog and reported a high-speed target heading toward Dnipro at 2:56 p.m.
Local social media channels reported explosions in the city followed by rising smoke.
Separately, DTEK energy workers conducting repair work near the front line in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast came under fire on Feb. 7, Ukraine’s largest private energy company reported on Telegram.
"Our energy workers were repairing a power line damaged by the Russians near the front line. At that moment, two FPV drones hit the vehicle, completely destroying it," the statement said.
Two FPV drones struck their vehicle, which was completely destroyed by fire, but the crew escaped unharmed.
This follows a Feb. 1 Russian drone attack on a DTEK bus carrying miners after their shift in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast that killed 12 people and wounded 16, nine of them seriously.
DTEK called it the company’s largest single loss of life since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
