Ternopil sees high chlorine and hydrochloric acid levels for second day

In the Novyi Svit microdistrict, hydrochloric acid levels reached 0.52 mg/m³, above the norm of 0.2 mg/m³; on Biletska Street, chlorine was at 0.6 mg/m³, exceeding the norm of 0.1 mg/m³, and hydrochloric acid was 0.52 mg/m³, also above the norm; on Obyizna Street, chlorine measured 0.3 mg/m³, surpassing the norm of 0.1 mg/m³, while hydrochloric acid was 0.21 mg/m³, just above the norm of 0.2 mg/m³.

Residents have been advised to follow safety recommendations. Air quality measurements are ongoing in the Ternopil district.

Ternopil Regional State Administration reported that overnight on Aug. 20, a fire broke out during an air raid in Ternopil, with Russian forces hitting an industrial facility and igniting a fuel tank, according to Viktor Ustenko, deputy head of the Ternopil Oblast Military Administration.
