Having launched over 800 drones on May 13, Russia targeted railway infrastructure across Ukraine, Ukrainian Railways (UZ) said in a statement.

Twenty-three strikes hit railway facilities, and two railway workers were killed in Zdolbuniv, Rivne Oblast. One other worker was injured.

UZ said the strikes damaged energy infrastructure, bridges and passenger, freight-car and locomotive depots in Zakarpattia, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Volyn, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. The company also reported hits on rolling stock; three locomotives were damaged overnight.

“In the rail town of Zdolbuniv, two of our colleagues lost their lives. They were not at their workplaces at the time, but the enemy strikes without discrimination. One colleague was wounded there; we are providing assistance,” UZ said.

The company warned that the attack could cause temporary train delays, operational schedule changes and route adjustments, and urged passengers to follow announcements at stations and on trains.
