Russian forces carried out another massive combined air assault on Ukraine’s energy grid and civilian infrastructure, launching hundreds of attack drones and firing dozens of cruise and ballistic missiles from seven Tu-95MS strategic bombers and at least three MiG jets early on Oct. 30.

The attack, which lasted for several hours, focused on western Ukraine.

The city of Burshtyn in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast was hit particularly hard, with residents reporting at least 60 explosions.

Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mykolaiv, and Kyiv oblasts were also targeted.

Following the attack, Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s national energy company, introduced emergency power outages in most regions of the country. Repair works are ongoing. Emergency shutdowns will be lifted once the national power system stabilizes.
